At last, after a series of storms went through Shetland, I managed to get out and about and do some beach combing. After many hours of collecting driftwood and then marrying the pieces together for the right effect, came up with a series of wall sconces suitable for tea lights.
Small Sconce - Approx 9 inches high and 2.5 inches wide, finished with boiled linseed oil and clear varnish.
Medium Sconce - Approx 12 inches high and 5.5 inches wide, the bracket is made from a sea worn tree branch, finished with boiled linseed oil and clear varnish.
Medium Sconce - Approx 10 inches high and 2 inches wide, decorated with a piece of sea worn tree branch, and finished with boiled linseed oil and clear varnish.
Large Sconce - Approx 25 inches high and 6 inches wide, decorated with ropework and a small mirror, finished with oiled linseed oil only.
Natural Sconce - Approx 12 inches high and 5 inches wide, made with a section of sea worn tree stump, and finished with a dark oil.
Extra Large Sconce - Approx 30 inches high and 9 inches wide, decorated with a small mirror, a little ropework and a section of tree root found on the beach, finished with a light, natural oil and clear varnish.
Medium Sconce - Approx 11 inches high and 6 inches wide, finished with a natural wood stain.
Medium Sconce - Approx 15 inches high and 5 inches wide and decorated with small mirror pieces in the shape of a flower and reef knot ropework, finished with boiled linseed oil and clear varnish.
Irregular Sconce - Approx 12 inches high and 4.5 inches wide, finished with several coats of natural oil, then polished, and then sealed with clear varnish.
Medium Sconce - Approx 14 inches high and 4.5 inches wide and finished with a natural oil.
Medium Sconces - Pair of natural wood sconces, approx 12 inches high and 4 inches wide, decorated with reef knot ropework and copper inlays. NOW SOLD
Large Sconce - Approx 18 inches high and 5 inches wide, decorated with a sea worn tree branch and finish with a natural oil and clear varnish.
